She’s The Voice

At The She Is Project we are committed to creating a platform where the story that exists inside the life of every woman is honoured and shared. For some of our ‘storytellers’ it is the first time they have given voice to their unique journey. Becoming vulnerable is scary and finding the confidence to own your story requires courage.

Which is why I want to let you know about an amazing woman who has been a great encouragement to me in my own journey as a confident storyteller and truth sharer. I first met Vicki Simpson more than 10 years ago at a women’s event that I was attending. She was one of the key speakers and spoke with such humility and wisdom, confident without a hint of arrogance. She was generous, authentic and powerful. She was clearly a woman who had made peace with the call and gift of God on her life; she had found her voice and was using it to great effect.

When I found out that Vicki was hosting and leading a training and impartation session for female communicators I knew I had to be there. Held in June 2014, it was a 24-hour experience that was Biblically sound, spiritually enlarging, practical, profoundly encouraging and one of the reasons that ‘The She Is Project’ now exists.

Vicki will be hosting another ‘She’s The Voice” master class on 27-28 November and I recently chatted with her about the heart and vision behind this amazing initiative.

When I stepped out into full time Christian ministry more than 23 years ago, another more experienced minister intentionally mentored me. This man invested wisdom, encouragement and correction into my life for a solid year. He was gender neutral in his perspective about my calling and gifting.

‘Throughout my life there have been a number of key people, men and women who have believed in me, championed me and reminded me of my responsibility to stay true to the calling of God on my life.

I am very aware however that not all women in Christian ministry, particularly those called to preach, teach or speak on a platform, have received such intentional mentoring and encouragement.’

‘In June 2014 I launched ‘She’s The Voice’ Masterclass – a 24 hour intensive designed to equip any woman, of any age, who feels called to stand on a platform and deliver a message.

What She’s The Voice is about, first and foremost, is the removal of a woman’s fear and self-doubt, (often sub-conscious), and the construction of her “inner platform” of faith and confidence.’

‘We deal with any “double-mindedness” – (“Yes I’m called / No, I’m not…. It’s ok to be powerful / No it’s not) – so she can be in agreement with the call of God on her life. Then she is positioned to be powerful!

The Master class is not just ‘Communications 101’ and it is no replacement for formal Bible College training – although I do cover the practicalities of preaching. It is an impartation of power.’

‘The participants have ranged from teenagers in youth-group through to women in their 60’s and everyone in between. They have travelled from all over Australia and New Zealand. They represent all parts of the Church and I mean ALL – Charismatic, Evangelicals, the Anglicans and the Catholics, (including a group of Spirit-filled nuns from Canberra). Some have been pastors and in full-time ministry, many are volunteering in their local church or market-place leaders – women who want to be a voice for God in their businesses and workplaces. Whatever your age or season in life ‘She’s The Voice’ exists to champion and equip you to be a clear and confident voice for God in your world.’
